Multi-Factor Authentication
Multi-Factor Authentication simply means that more than one authentication method is required for login. When you clock in with the Kronos system you are using Multi-factor authentication. The two factors are your Kronos ID number and your fingerprint. With Office 365 you will use your password and accept an authorization message when logging in.
The default mail apps on your phone do not support the advanced security required for MFA. From this point forward, you will only be able to access your email on your mobile device by using the Microsoft Outlook App. You will then need to remove the account from other mail apps to avoid issues.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is the industry-standard and Microsoft's recommended method of protecting users' accounts from unauthorized access. When an attempt is made to log into your account from a new device, a notification will be sent to your phone which you will have to accept in order to allow the login.
We have had an increasing number of accounts being logged into by unauthorized users in foreign countries. As soon as they login, Microsoft recognizes that it is impossible for you to have traveled this distance in the amount of time since you last accessed your account here, and Microsoft disables the account for your security. This is good, but it prevents you from using your account as well and it cannot be re-enabled until that return "impossible travel distance" time has elapsed.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) ensures that when this is attempted, notification is sent to your device which you can either disallow or ignore to prevent the unauthorized login and continue using your account without interruption.
